Really put it out there

Okay, time to come clean. My first piece of fiction was about me and my boyfriend. for those who haven't read it it's about a guy and a girl who fall in love and then she finds out he has a disease and is going to die in like two years. it was kinda awful looking back. there wasn't really a lot of depth, and a majority of the story was about the guy's mom telling the girl that he's going to die. that part is powerful because i don't like my boyfriends mom. my boyfriend's mom and i "don't see eye to eye". anyways, i cried while writing the death scene. he cried while reading it. i thought it was awesome, but a lot of my class didn't think i put enough into it. moral of the story when using your life as a template make sure you fill out all the parts. just because you know your love story doesn't mean anyone else does.
